What was the reason for the hornets invading the airplane cabin in China?

1. Asian giant hornet invasion in Washington state
In 2019, the Asian giant hornet (aka “murder hornet”) made headlines when it was discovered in Washington state. These hornets can be up to two inches long and their sting can be fatal to humans. The Washington State Department of Agriculture worked quickly to eradicate the hornets before they could establish themselves in the area.
2. Hornets attack soccer team in Vietnam
In 2019, a soccer game in Vietnam was interrupted when a swarm of hornets attacked the players on the field. The players and referees were forced to run for cover as the hornets continued to attack.
3. Hornet nest inside a car
In a video that went viral in 2020, a man in Texas discovered a massive hornet nest inside his car door. The man had been getting stung by hornets every time he got into his car and didn’t know where the stings were coming from until he found the nest.
4. Hornets invade airplane cabin
In 2018, a plane in China was delayed when a nest of hornets was found inside the cabin. Passengers and crew members were forced to evacuate the plane while the hornets were removed.
5. Hornets attack ferris wheel
In 2019, visitors to a fair in Japan were trapped on a ferris wheel for over an hour when a swarm of hornets attacked. The hornets were attracted to the lights on the ride and began stinging the passengers.
